Path Of the Heart Breathwork

Reclaiming our True Selves through the power of the breath...

After training with author and Breathwork creator Linda Starwolf, Rebecca became a certified Breathwork facilitator and created Path Of the Heart Breathwork. Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, various depth psychologies, and transpersonal psychology.

Path of the Heart Breathwork, similar to Holotropic Breathwork, is a compelling  journeying experience that allows you to access your own inner healing source. Many have likened it to a real vision quest experience. Throughout time people have sought healing, solace and answers by going alone into the wilderness to experience a vision. Path of the Heart Breathwork allows you to stay out of the weather, while experiencing similar life altering clarity! In the comfort of an energy enhancing group, or privately if you prefer, participants take a soul journey to discover whatever is calling within them and desiring expression at this time in their lives. Upon return they typically feel renewed, transformed and wiser for the journey.

The transformation begins as participants come together in an atmosphere of safety and respect. Guided imagery exercises to facilitate relaxation and de-stressing are followed by deep connected breathing coupled with beautiful evocative music. With each inhalation and exhalation old wounds and hurtful ways of being are released and individuals begin to reclaim lost pieces of their soul.

What transpires is a journey into the heart of Self where ego defenses relax and destructive patterns and unhealthy behaviors can be released. The journey can unfold in many ways ranging from deeply spiritual and joyous, to the release of pent up emotions such as grief, shame, fear, rage, and anxiety.

Creation of a mandala follows the breathwork experience
. The mandala, Sanskrit for sacred circle, has been used for thousands of years in many spiritual traditions as a form of meditation, healing, and transformation. Mandalas are found in both religious and secular cultures to illustrate wholeness and truth.

It has been said that creating a mandala is an inward journey in itself. Each mandala is unique and offers a glimpse into each participant's breathwork/ vision quest experience. The day will conclude with the sharing of mandalas and the journey experience.

The brain relaxes during Breathwork.  This means there is a change in your brain wave pattern. People who meditate, do hypnosis or guided imagery are aware that being in that state changes the brain wave pattern.You remain conscious and aware of what is going on around you but you feel different and, in addition, the sub-conscious mind is open to new learning and healing. In Breathwork, as in life, we begin the journey in Beta (consciously alert, or possibly feeling agitated, tense, afraid) and/or Alpha (a state of mental relaxation, aware of what is happening around us) and as the Breathwork experience unfolds we move into deeper and slower brain waves associated with Theta ( a slow and relaxing state associated with dreaming, daydreaming, being sleepy, relaxed, open). Delta waves occur in deep sleep. Most people do not go into Delta while doing Breathwork unless the body is physically tired. Even in Delta the Breathwork experience is powerful as the unconscious and subconscious mind never sleep.
