ENTERING THE SACRED WILDERNESS AND AWAKENING YOUR INNER WISDOM
A Wise Woman Rising Women’s Retreat with Rebecca Jeffers M.Ed., LPC
“Belonging so fully to yourself that you’re willing to stand alone is a wilderness – an untamed, unpredictable place of solitude and searching. It is a place as dangerous as it is breathtaking, a place as sought after as it is feared. The wilderness can often feel unholy because we can’t control it, or what people think about our choice of whether to venture into that vastness or not. But it turns out to be the place of true belonging, and it’s the bravest and most sacred place you will ever stand.” Brene’ Brown
Once upon a time, I was encouraged to listen to a guided meditation for 30 days and journal about my experiences. The time was 1998, and I was following the direction of a beloved teacher/mentor as part of my Master’s work. The meditation required that I simply spend 15 minutes each day connecting with my Inner Wisdom then write down what happened. The Wisdom figure(s) that appeared to me then continue to be an active and valuable resource in my life today.
Over the years, I’ve created a variety of processes to assist in strengthening the connection to the Inner Wisdom figure that lives within each of us and I would like to share my process at this retreat. We must be willing to enter into the vast and unknown wilderness of our own body, mind, heart, 0and spirit to explore our most valuable gits. Great wisdom, insight, knowing, and direction is waiting for those courageous enough to make the journey. At the heart of our inner wilderness is the place of True Belonging.
“True Belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself.” Brene’ Brown
Each day of the retreat you will practice connecting to your Inner Wisdom through guided meditation, journaling, somatic (body) connection exercises, music assisted imagery work, dancing/movement, mandala drawing, and expressive art projects. Expect to leave the retreat with a new-found connection to your internal oracle, your very own wise, intuitive, sacred guide.
Additionally, we will work with core elements of the Heart Work Scripts™ and Wise Woman Rising Coaching® Program to foster self-love and empowerment through attending to the wounded, fear and/or shame-based elements of our younger selves.
The Brazos House Retreat is a rusticly beautiful property located on the Brazos River near Glen Rose, Texas and less than an hour from Fort Worth. Weather permitting we will be taking advantage of the outdoors as often as possible during the weekend. http://www.brazoshouseretreat.com
