Hypnosis is nothing more than a heightened state of concentration, focus and suggestibility, such that the suggestions given are accepted as true and effects the beliefs, habits, perceptions and behaviors of an individual in varying degrees according to the depth of hypnosis established.
Emotions and the Sub Conscious Mind
At the root of all problem behaviors are feelings. We might be experiencing a combination of primary emotions such as sadness, anger, loneliness, guilt, or fear, coupled with ancillary feelings of frustration, low self esteem and even depression. Typically when we have these uncomfortable feelings rarely do we take measures that actually take care of the feeling state, but rather instead choose behaviors such as overeating, smoking, nail biting, etc to distract ourselves from the original feeling. This cycle of experiencing the feeling and distracting continues until we experience profound frustration followed many times by depression in the form of hopelessness.
For example how many of us have started a diet with high hopes only to find our will power failing us as soon as the stressors of daily life begin to add up? And if that weren°t enough, to make matters even worse we're also combating old programming, beliefs, and habitual patterns of behavior entrenched within our sub-conscious minds! Ample research now tells us that the sub-conscious mind is the primary driving component in our lives. For example, turning to sugar for comfort when we are having negative, and sometimes even positive, feelings is most likely an habituated response firmly seated in the sub-conscious, probably since childhood. So no matter how much we consciously desire to stay on the diet, when our system is stressed the sub-conscious mind drives us to perform in ways that are consistent with the beliefs and habits that are stored within it. Attempting to use conscious will power is a setup for failure, one that most of us have experienced many times.
Hitting the Delete Button
Hypnosis is the fastest and most reliable way to begin to change the sub-conscious mind.
